Sale point gaps

A recording that is live on a store but absent from that store's sales report for the period. Expected against reported, chased with the store, and written off only with a reason.

A gap is a reporting failure, not a delivery failure. The recording is confirmed live on the storefront — it is the store's sales file that does not carry it. The other cause, a store the release was never sent to at all, is a missing sale point and is fixed by adding the store, not by chasing the report. 0 of those are open.

Where the gaps sit

Concentration by store. One store under-reporting broadly is a feed problem, not a catalogue problem.

The chase workflow

Every gap ends in one of two places.

  1. 1

    Open

Detected by reconciling delivered sale points against the store's sales file for the period.

  2. 2

    Chased

A query is raised with the store's reporting contact, quoting the ISRC and the period. The store has 30 days.

  3. 3

    Resolved

The store restates the period and the missing streams land in the next royalty run.

  4. 4

    Written off

The store will not restate. The shortfall is accepted, recorded with a reason, and never paid.
