Why the tag matters. An Official Artist Channel merges the artist's uploads, their auto-generated topic channel and their art tracks into one channel with a music note badge. Art-track revenue then flows to the artist instead of sitting on an unclaimed topic channel. We cannot apply the tag ourselves — it is a request we raise with YouTube on the artist's behalf, and they decide.
